This is the reflection That I had to write about the SPSA video. The reflection contains things that I believe we did really well on as well as things that could have been improved. It was an enriching assignment as it allowed me to reflect on my work and address the strengths and weaknesses in it.

I don’t think there was much to brainstorm about the sustainability topic that we chose since we were already pretty interested in the initial topic we signed up for. We all shared a google doc and everyone put their notes from their research and just used all that information for the PSA. We were all responsible for a section of the PSA, and overall I think we all held up our end of the workload. While working on this sustainability project I learned quite a few things, but the main concept I learned the most about was net-zero buildings. At first I thought that it was a concept that was quite out of reach for a city like New York, but with the more research I did, the more I learned it was a more achievable goal than what I had Initially thought.

Overall, I think a public service announcement is the best way to bring awareness to sustainability issues because they are short and effective. A 30 second video on a screen can capture the attention of a broader audience and is more likely to entice a person to look into these sustainability issues. The most favorable aspect of working on the group project was the fact that gathering information was much easier. The least favorable was making a readable PSA with such a short time limit. The only thing I can suggest for the improvement of the SPSA project would be to extend the time limit to 40 seconds. That slight difference in time can make a PSA much more easier to interpret due to a possible slower pacing.
